October 2020 Gallery Walk
Friday, October 2nd
5pm-8pm
Our October 2nd Gallery Walk is quickly approaching, and we continue to offer creative ways to safely reach out to our community during this challenging time. Though many of our galleries will be relatively quiet this month, we are delighted to announce a variety of art experiences inside those gallery spaces who are offering socially distant live openings. Additionally, one of our galleries will be partnering with the Kinsey Institute to host a virtual homage to the late Tom Fox, an IU alumnus who died from AIDS in the late 80’s. Please take note of the October events, exhibitions and locations available to our faithful followers.

BWS was founded in 2005 and currently has close to 100 members. In prior years, we met to paint in person. Now, we are meeting monthly on ZOOM calls to share information, artwork, and organizational news. We support a scholarship for
an art student each year which provides $500 for art supplies. Our monthly meetings include presentations by members and guest artists. During the pandemic, we have been creating artwork at home, in our studios and outdoors while adhering to recommended health guidelines.

Wrapped in Love 2020-2021 Yarn-Cutting Celebration
06:00 pm to 07:00 pm
Monroe County Courthouse
https://middlewayhouse.org/2020-2021-wrapped-in-love-art-display/
Free and open to the public! Just as Middle Way House wraps survivors of violence and abuse in warmth, safety, and support, fabric artists lovingly create tree sweaters for over 50 downtown Bloomington trees. Help us dedicate this cherished Bloomington tradition, now in its ninth year. Join us as we open the five-month-long art display with a brief, socially-distanced gathering on the courthouse lawn. Then enjoy guided walking tours of the tree sweaters. (Walk as much or as little as you around the 10-block area of the exhibit.) You’ll have the opportunity to vote on which tree sweaters you find Most Creative, Most Beautiful, and several other accolades.
