Think Like An Archaeologist!

01:00 pm to 03:00 pm
Monroe County History Center, 202 E 6th Street
http://monroehistory.org/events/think-like-an-archaeologist

“Think Like An Archaeologist” as we explore artifacts and research records reflecting different cultures in Indiana’s past.

We’re learning about Indiana’s past! Start off Indiana Archaeology Month with a program planned for families (parents/caregivers and children age 5 and older).

Four teams will each use a different collection of artifacts to discover how both prehistoric and historic Hoosiers lived. What was different? What was the same? Archaeologists Cheryl Munson and Jocelyn Turner from Indiana University will guide the teams, and together we will unfold some of the stories of Indiana’s ancient and not so ancient past.

Cardinal Stage presents “The Great Gatsby’ September 5-22 at the Ivy Tech Waldron Auditorium. The breathtaking glamour and decadent excess of the Jazz Age come to the stage in Simon Levy’s adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel. Nick Carraway finds himself drawn into the dazzling world of flappers, bootleggers, and a mysterious man named Jay Gatsby. But beneath all the romance is a harsh reality that cannot be escaped, no matter how hard Gatsby may struggle to row against the current of his past.
