Join us at Unity of Bloomington for Golden Slippers Chi Gong led by Elisa Pokral on Monday evenings. Whether you are a young adult, thirty something, middle aged, or elderly, Elisa’s vision for this class is for all to practice together an ancient art of health maintenance and healing with whatever flexibility level you have. The class welcomes those who exercise regularly, those who don’t, those with limited mobility, and some who may only be able to do the exercises sitting down. The class costs $10 and drop-ins are welcome at any time.

The class is taught by Allana Radecki who has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 1988. Her “Yoga from the Inside Out,” draws upon the foundation poses of Hatha Yoga, guided by the breath, to develop a balanced, mindful practice. Allana’s method adapts easily to all ages and levels of practice and is helpful to people with special needs, injuries and joint replacements. Allana’s teaching is grounded in 40 years of Hatha practice and over 25 years of teaching yoga, dance, fitness and Pilates, deeply influenced by Body-Mind Centering.

Opal Fly is Kentucky born, raised in Evansville IN, lived in various parts of the country including New Orleans and is now a proud resident of Owen County IN. This little gal can play the sax! She can write songs and sing too – presents her tunes with style, spunk and a great big smile. WE LOVE OPAL FLY! Opal hasn’t lived in the area long, moving here to pursue music but she has become a household word in the world of local Singer-Songwriters. Along with her best friend and bass player – Mark Bushkill, Opal is KAPOW! Clint Zimmerman is our great big good-looking Cowboy from Martinsville IN. He is an actual farm hand, loves all things ranch, and he can write a Country song too! The Clint Zimmerman Band is pretty buy these days – so we’re happy that Clint has made a bit of time to share his songs with us this evening. Ryan Harrison is new to the area too – residing in Brown County as he continues his education. We met Ryan through Kim Robins who told Harrison about out monthly Open ‘Share-a-Chair’. He turned up, signed on, and the rest is history. Welcome to your first Showcase Ryan Harrison: -). Steev Wisher is a fabulous Singer-Songwriter – and is especially good at writing songs that highlight his work on twelve string guitar. Somehow, someway, Wisher manages to keep the darn thing in perfect tune and with it – we go on trips through whimsical forest on a unicorn . . . His instrumentals are his strong suit, although he has a few ‘word songs’ that are quite good with beautiful melody lines and lyrics. Steev is one of the three folks who help keep the Bloomington Songwriter Showcase up and running as the guy who provides flyers to writers and the club, sends reminders and thank you(s) to scheduled Songwriters, helps scout for new talent. . . and is the funny guy who does the mid Show hosting duties.
