Join us at Unity of Bloomington for Golden Slippers Chi Gong led by Elisa Pokral on Monday evenings. Whether you are a young adult, thirty something, middle aged, or elderly, Elisa’s vision for this class is for all to practice together an ancient art of health maintenance and healing with whatever flexibility level you have. The class welcomes those who exercise regularly, those who don’t, those with limited mobility, and some who may only be able to do the exercises sitting down. The class costs $10 and drop-ins are welcome at any time.

The class is taught by Allana Radecki who has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 1988. Her “Yoga from the Inside Out,” draws upon the foundation poses of Hatha Yoga, guided by the breath, to develop a balanced, mindful practice. Allana’s method adapts easily to all ages and levels of practice and is helpful to people with special needs, injuries and joint replacements. Allana’s teaching is grounded in 40 years of Hatha practice and over 25 years of teaching yoga, dance, fitness and Pilates, deeply influenced by Body-Mind Centering.

Jenn Bostic is a star – living in Nashville TN – she is visiting us as she returns from a tour and visiting her folks who reside in Waconia Minnesota. Born in Philadelphia, Jenn’s family moved to Minnesota where she learned Midwest values and that has greatly influenced her music. Her song ‘Jealous of the Angles’ is a tune written after a life-changing automobile accident that took her father . . . Jenn was just a child when that happened and was a passenger in that vehicle. The event deeply affected Jenn, and her father who was a musician and CEO of Nordic Track, had a tremendous influence on Jenn’s character and her music. She is truly beautiful inside and out and I call Jenn Bostic a personal friend now. I think you’ll LOVE her and her music! Rickie Maxwell is a bass player – who enjoys playing guitar as well, but his main axe is the electric bass He has a sense of humor about life – his in particular and has written some cool tunes that reflect his personality. Some of our Audience may know Rickie from his work with his Rock band – 3Kings. This program will be a lot of fun with a LOT of musical diversity. Speaking of musical Diversity . . . we’ve got Denny Wheatley onstage this evening as well! I like to call Denny our ‘Country Gentleman’ – very sweet natured, fun-loving, and his music reflects all of this. Silver hair, glint of laughter in his eyes, this Songwriter presents music that is mostly Country in nature, but he can do some Blues and Americana as well. Denny Wheatley resides in Louisville KY, and is driving up just to play some music for y’all tonight – so come out and say ‘Howdy’ : -) You’ll be SOOOOO glad you did. This evening is our monthly ‘OPEN GUEST Share-a-Chair’ evening and we’ve got some pretty cool Songwriters lines up to rotate in our 4th Feature Writer chair tonight. . . Expect a great show . . .
