56th Annual Lake Lemon Regatta

12:00 pm
Bloomington Yacht Club
http://bloomingtonyachtclub.org/

The 56th Annual Lake Lemon Regatta hosted by the Bloomington Yacht Club (BYC) takes place at noon on Saturday, September 24th and at 9:30 am Sunday, September 25th, 2016 at the BYC.

A sailing regatta is a series of class races comprised of identical boats all racing around a set course on the lake. The course is set so that all boats must sail to all points of the compass, against the wind and with the wind. Strategy and tactics play a significant part in the outcome of the event.

Four fleets of boats of varying lengths and classes will have separate starts. These sailors will be coming from throughout the Midwest and will compete over two days for the top sailing awards.

The event is free and open to the public. Bring a picnic lunch and come join us for an afternoon of watching these boats compete on nearby Lake Lemon.

About the Bloomington Yacht Club:
The Bloomington Yacht Club, located at 8911 Sail Away Lane, Bloomington, In. 47468 is a cooperative club dedicated to the enhancement of sailing on Lake Lemon. The club supports an active racing and social agenda during the year, and is operated on the premise that all members give their fair share of time and effort in maintaining and managing the club.
