Artist Talk: Robert Baines

04:00 pm to 05:00 pm
Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University
https://events.iu.edu/artmuseum/view/event/date/20200328/event_id/114418

Join us for a visiting artist talk with Robert Baines.
Renowned Australian goldsmith Robert Baines has been studying and reviving Bronze Age goldsmith techniques for 40 years. Interested in the ways in which jewelry is connected to culture and history, Baines explores these ideas in works that are whimsical, intriguing, and beautiful in their complexity. Through the presentation of a fictitious narrative that conveys the enigma of jewelry as material evidence of authentic history, the works in this exhibition challenge ideas about what is “wearable.”

This program is supported in part by the generosity of Rita Grunwald.
