Discover the science of simple farm machines and have close encounters with live farm animals. Special farm technology activities include lifting bales of straw with pulleys and comparing historical hand-cranked farm and kitchen implements with modern versions of this equipment. Live barnyard animals include chickens, rabbits, a horse, a dairy calf, and more. Other activities include roping a “cow” to learn about the role of horses on ranches and discovering the incredible diversity of poultry breeds while making a baby chick as a craft.
