B’town Jazz presents Homegrown Hip!, Episode #2 virtual performance, Sat. 10/3/20 8pm EDT, online

Monika Herzig & Peter Kienle
Sat. 10/3/20 8pm EDT
Peter (on guitar) and Monika (on piano) will share some of their original compositions and stories from the road, and talk about events that led to the founding of B’town Jazz.

Monika Herzig and Peter Kienle arrived in the US in 1988 on a one-way ticket from Germany following their jazz musician dreams. Many might remember the award-winning jazz fusion group BeebleBrox, their collaboration project that featured original music on a dozen album releases with guests including Bob Berg, various international tours, and opening slots for Sting, Santana, Yes, Tower of Power, the Dixie Dregs and more.

Monika holds a Doctorate from the IU Jacobs School of Music and is faculty in the SPEA Arts Administration program. Her New York based group Sheroes, which includes some of the world’s leading female jazz instrumentalists. recently celebrated the release of Eternal Dance at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Eternal Dance was featured for 15 weeks on the JazzWeek charts this summer peaking at #6. For more, see www.monikaherzig.com
