Cemetery Preservation & Restoration

The Monroe County History Center is hosting nationally recognized cemetery restoration specialist, Jason Church. Church is the Materials Conservator at the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training in Natchitoches, Louisiana. From cemetery surveys and documentation, tips and techniques for photographing headstones, to appropriate headstone cleaning products, based on a study by the National Park Service, these topics are a great opportunity for any cemetery enthusiast to learn more about historic preservation. Made possible by the Cornelius O’Brien Lecture Series.
