Children’s Art Workshop with the Tashi Kyill Buddhist Monks

10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Unity of Bloomington, 4001 S. Rogers Street, Bloomington
http://www.unityofbloomington.org

The monks will guide children through the arts of sand painting, making “medoc” — the flowers usually put on a Sacred Butter Sculpture (using Play Doh), coloring images of Tibet and Eight Auspicious Symbols, painting Mani Stones (please bring your own flat stone), and making little prayer flags. The monks close the workshop with a Yak (Snow Lion) Dance.

Unity of Bloomington, in partnership with the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, invites the public to three days of sacred learning, spiritual enlightenment and interaction with the Tibetan Buddhist monks visiting on the 2015-2016 Tashi Kyil Tour. The monks are from Tashil, a Tibetan refugee monastery located in Dehra Dun, India.

Cost: Free
