College Mall is giving Bloomington children the chance to become business owners and plan for the perfect summer all in one day. On Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Center Court, the mall will host a Summer Camp Expo and children are also invited to sign-up for Lemonade Day, a program that empowers today’s youth to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.
The Summer Camp Expo is an opportunity for parents and children to speak with camp representatives one-on-one and learn more about the fun summer programs available throughout the area.
Participating camps and programs include:
• Adventure Camp
• American Camp Association of Indiana
• Banneker Community Center
• Boys & Girls Clubs, Ellettsville Unit
• Camp Gallahue
• Camp Red Fox with Girls Inc.
• Camp Rock with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington
• Ivy Tech Community College “Ivy Arts for Kids”
• Kid City Summer Camp
• People and Animals Learning Services (PALS)
• Y Camps with the YMCA of Bloomington
Children are also encouraged to sign up for Lemonade Day. The free program is a fun and strategic 14-step process that teaches youth how to start, own, and operate their own business through a lemonade stand. Participants learn how to create a budget, set profit-making goals, serve customers, repay investors and give back to the community. Lemonade Day will be May 3, 2014, and all interested participants can learn more about the program in Center Court.
