This evening, we have two of our local faves – dwBrykalski (aka David Weirhake) and Steve ‘Bulldog’ Johnson. dwBrykalski has backed up just about anyone who is anyone in and around the Bloomington area with is fine harmonica and accordion work. He is also a good Songwriter in his own right and often writes songs that include some of the more tuff life issues – his guitar riffs are memorable and he brings a lot to the stage with him. Steve ‘Bulldog’ Johnson is best known as a finger-picker who writes songs about life and people who are interesting . . . then sings them with a voice reminiscent of the late Burle Ives. He can be funny when the situation is right, and we love that about him. Bulldog is a supporter of the Showcase and is often in the Audience – putting money in the tip jar for his fellow Singer-Songwriters . . . something that we pay attention to! We have writers who only show up for their own personal programs – but not Bulldog – he’s there for everyone – and we’re here for him : -) Tonight will be Brandon Wilson’s first Showcase with us and we look forward to hearing this young, uber-talented man. He gets around on guitar as well as he does vocally – great range on both counts. We think our Audience will LOVE this newcomer to the series and we look forward to making him part of the Feature Writer regulars!
