Elder Justice: A Community Conversation

09:00 am to 01:00 pm
Ivy Tech, Lamkin Hall - 200 Daniels Way
http://www.area10agency.org/elderjusticeevent

Every year 1 in 10 older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, exploitation or scamming. Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect reported, as many as 23.5 cases go unreported. Please join us for a conversation to discuss how we can provide the vulnerable elders in our community the protection and justice they need and deserve.

Area 10 Agency on Aging will host an event “Elder Justice: A Community Conversation” on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Lamkin Hall at IVY Tech in Bloomington from 9:00am to 1:00pm. A panel, comprised of members of law enforcement, service providers, and government agencies, will discuss the role of each agency in preventing or protecting individuals from abuse, understanding community resources and identifying gaps in service. Panelists will include Steve Galvin, Chris Gaal, Toby Strout, and Liz Jones and others. Karen Gilliland from the Indiana Division of Aging is also expected to attend. There is no cost but registration is appreciated. Please call Area 10 Agency on Aging at 812-876-3383 or register on the website at www.area10agency.org/elderjusticeevent.

Cost: Free with Registration
