Visit the sugaring operations, learn the maple syrup production process, and explore its history. Weather permitting there will be a syrup boil in progress in the wood-fired outdoor evaporator and new this year, the old iron kettle. Available for purchase will be freshly bottled maple syrup, maple cream, maple candy, do-it-yourself maple tree tapping kits, and books pertaining to maple syrup production and use. Also available for purchase will be jams and jellies prepared by Farmstead Volunteers. Friday Musicale and The Bloomington Old-Time Music and Dance Group with Mark Wiedenmayer will be hosting music in the parlor. Volunteers will give indoor tours of the Farmhouse.
The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
