Final Week at The Venue: Mongolia to Indiana, Paintings by Butedma Gonso

This is the final week to view and appreciate an exhibition of oil paintings by Mongolian artist, Butedma Gonso, at The Venue.

Gonso’s paintings reflect a lifetime of exploration, from her upbringing in Mongolia to her current home in Owen County. Her dynamic use of color in her farmscapes and vivid depictions of ethereal, Buddhist images exhibit a global perspective perfect for the Bloomington community. “Working with paints allowed me to keep in touch with my individuality in what I found to be a completely new world” explains Gonso as she reflects on how living in the United States for ten years has shaped her as an artist.
