Join in an intergenerational exploration of the connections between art and science during First Friday Evening! Meet and talk with Brown County artist Donna Whitsitt as she demonstrates how she uses watercolor and ink to depict nature. In related visitor activities, explore this medium by experimenting with absorption properties of watercolor, using a microscope to make a tiny watercolor painting, and creating a magnet on watercolor board to take home. Expressions of Nature, an exhibition of artwork by Ms. Whitsitt, is on display at WonderLab through May 15.
In addition, there will be a display on First Friday Evening of watercolor art by residents of Bell Trace Senior Living Community, as well as a selection of their handmade watercolor notecards available to purchase in the museum gift store. Outside the museum, Lilly Meister, a teenage Bloomington artist, will be singing and playing guitar. A small plate meal, freshly prepared by Bloomingfoods, will be available to purchase on site in the WonderLab café.
This event is part of the 2015 Creative Aging Festival and also First Fridays.
