Furs, Fins, and Feathers brings live animals, demos to Paynetown SRA, Sep. 16

Monroe Lake’s annual celebration of hunting and fishing returns to Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446 in Bloomington, on Saturday, September 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Scheduled presentations:
• Electrofishing Demo at 1:00 p.m.
• Airborne Hunters, Part One (live owls) at 1:45 p.m.
• Furs and Bones: Indiana Game Mammals at 2:30 p.m.
• Airborne Hunters, Part Two (live hawks and falcons) at 3:15 p.m.

Drop-in activities:
• Hunting Dogs from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Make a Paracord Fishing Lure from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Open Fishing from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
• Fire and Light from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
• Wild Game Stew from 4 to 5 p.m.

Everything takes place in the vicinity of the Activity Center and swimming beach. All materials or equipment needed for the activities will be provided. However, adults who wish to fish must have a fishing license (no license is needed for children under the age of 18).

Presenters include Monroe Lake, Indiana Raptor Center, Indiana Falconers Association, Hoosier Ridge Kennels, Indiana Bass’n Gals, and the Indiana Division of Fish and Wildlife.

The property entrance fee for Paynetown SRA is $7 per vehicle with an Indiana license plate, or $9 per vehicle with an out-of-state license plate.
