Garlic Mustard Gourmet Workshop

01:00 pm
Paynetown SRA, Activity Center, 4850 S. SR 446
http://www.tinyurl.com/monroelake

Cost is $5 per person; limited to 12 people. Registration REQUIRED by April 25 to the Paynetown Activity Center at 812-837-9967.

Learn to hate and love garlic mustard – at the same time! Garlic mustard is a non-native, highly-invasive plant that is crowding out native plants and threatening the ecosystem. However, garlic mustard is also a delicious culinary plant that can be easily incorporated into standard dishes. This makes pulling garlic mustard a win-win – you get to help the forest while pleasing your taste buds! We’ll teach you how to identify garlic mustard, effectively remove it, and then work together to prepare ( and consume!) several dishes that feature garlic mustard. Recommended for ages 14 and up. 3 hours

Please note: Carpooling will likely be required to/from a nearby area, in order to harvest garlic mustard.

Cost: $5/person, registration required by 4/25
