Harvest Moon Weekend offers fall activities, cornhole tournament, at Paynetown SRA, Sep. 12-13
Day visitors and campers are invited to Paynetown State Recreation Area on September 12 and 13 for the 3rd annual Harvest Moon Weekend.
Afternoon and evening activities include apple tasting, candle-dipping, natural dyes, and a fall leaf color program. Details are on the September Program Schedule at http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2954.htm.
The highlight of the weekend is a free cornhole tournament on Saturday, September 13 at 2:30 p.m.
Pre-registration for the tournament is available until 5 p.m. on September 12 by emailing [email protected] with the names of both team members (specify “open” or “youth” tourney).
Day-of registration will be available at the Paynetown Activity Center between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on September 13.
The open tourney has slots for 32 teams and is double-elimination. Each team must have at least one player that is 16-years-old or older. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
The youth tourney has space for 12 teams and is single-elimination. Both players on each team must be 15-years-old or younger. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 teams.
Paynetown SRA on Monroe Lake (stateparks.IN.gov/2954.htm) is at 4850 South State Road 446, Bloomington, 47401. Property admission is $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents or $7 per vehicle for out-of-state residents.
