KALEIDOSCOPE FESTIVAL CELEBRATES WITH INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW
On July 7, the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center (TMBCC) in Bloomington will host the first annual Kaleidoscope Festival in celebration of the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama whose brother founded the center in the late 1970s. An exciting array of multi-cultural family-oriented activities will begin at 10 am and continue through 5 pm.
Attendees will enjoy an international fashion show that will feature an array of hand crafted textiles. Guests will also enjoy a music stage with an afternoon of performances to include local talent and traditional music, a tempting variety of craft and food vendor offerings and a fashion show of handcrafted Tibetan, Mongolian, Indian, and Russian traditional costumes. The all-day event is free and open to the public. Visitors will have an opportunity to stop in at the Happy Yak Gift Shop and even to reserve overnight accommodations in one of the center’s retreat cottages or rooms.
The TMBCC is located at 3655 Snoddy Road. For more information about the center and the Kaleidoscope Festival, log on to www.tmbcc.net or call (812) 336-6807.
