Nature Play Days Passport

12:01 am to 11:59 pm on Jun 13
Paynetown SRA at Monroe Lake
http://bit.ly/natureplaydays-2021

Do you have kids who spend a little too much time inside? Or do you struggle to get outside yourself? Monroe Lake is offering a Nature Play Days Passport program from June 5 to 13, designed to encourage people of all ages to venture outside more often to play and enjoy being in nature.

The Nature Play Days Passport includes 30 activity options divided among 3 categories: scheduled public programs at Paynetown State Recreation Area, self-guided activities to do at Monroe Lake (or another local park), and outdoor play activities that can be enjoyed just about anywhere – including your own backyard.

To successfully complete a passport, participants need to finish at least 10 of the 30 activity options (including at least 1 from each of the 3 categories) between June 5 and 13.

Passports can be obtained electronically by registering at http://bit.ly/natureplaydays-2021. You can also pick up a hard copy in person at the Paynetown Activity Center from June 2 to 13, during regular operating hours.

Completed passports must be presented to a naturalist at the Paynetown Activity Center by no later than June 20 to claim a certificate and small prize – and to be entered to win a hand-painted wooden plant press. The Activity Center is open Wednesdays-Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

The daily entrance fee for Paynetown SRA is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plates ($9 per vehicle with out-of-state plates). Indiana State Park Annual Entrance Permits are also accepted.

Questions about this event should be directed to the Paynetown Activity Center at 812-837-9967 or to Jill Vance, interpretive naturalist, at [email protected]. Nature Play Days are an initiative of the Indiana Children & Nature Network (indianachildrenandnature.org).

Cost: Property Entrance Fee is $7 per vehicle with Indiana plates ($9 per vehicle with out-of-state plates)
