Navigating the Holidays without Stress and Worry

10:00 am to 01:00 pm
Kadampa Meditation Center Bloomington
https://www.meditationinbloomington.org/navigating-the-holidays-without-stress-dec-4

For many people the holidays are a time of year that, rather than being joyful, give rise to additional stress and worry. In addition to family expectations, time pressure, and financial worries, this year there may be concerns over traveling and mixing with others as well.

Buddha, 2,600 years ago, provided teachings on overcoming stress and worry that are as relevant today as they were during his time. In this workshop, participants will learn how to see that it is often our responses to events, and not the events themselves that cause us stress and worry. We may not be able to change what appears to us, but we can definitely learn to change our reaction to them from negative to positive.

Practical instructions will be provided to help participants transform the common causes of holiday stress and worry into positive experiences such as patience, giving and recognizing the kindness of others – all of which will give rise to happiness for oneself and others.

Cost: $20
