NEW Monthly Support Group: Parkinson’s Support

What: Monthly Support Group: Parkinson’s Support

When: 3:00-4:00 pm, Second Thursdays (December 11)

Where: The Endwright Center, 631 W. Edgewood Dr, Ellettsville, 47429

Who: Heather Gaunt (McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center)

Cost: FREE

About: Parkinson’s is a part of some people’s lives but it doesn’t have to be life itself. When we not only manage the disease but also plan ahead for new symptoms that may arise, we more easily adapt. This group is designed to offer community, companionship, education, understanding and hopefully many new friendships as well! There will be opportunity for adaptation, plus acceptance of Parkinson’s on our own terms. We will generate meaningful conversation and learn about resources. Knowledge is power and sharing is caring! The ultimate goal of the group is to know we’re not alone, and that there are people to turn to, people who care. Anyone living with Parkinson’s is invited to join at any time. The group will begin by meeting once monthly and is always open to newcomers.

About the Facilitator: Heather Gaunt has been working in healthcare for the last 8 years with a primary focus on older adults, rehab for those adults as well as preventative measures to allow them to remain independent for as long as possible. She has a degree in Business Management (Ivy Tech) and lives in Ellettsville with her dog and 3 cats. Heather has a passion for life in general, and says “Helping others is just icing on the cake!”
