Reception: Second Saturday, July, 12, 5-8 pm, during the Village Art Walk

About Corrine Hull:
Corrine Hull is originally from Richmond, Indiana. She took her first painting class at the age of seven and has continued painting ever since. She has taken numerous classes and workshops with area artists such as Esther Nusbaum and Doris Turnbaugh. Corrine studied locally with Midwestern artists, Ron Mack, Robert Hoffman, Scott Sullivan, Angel Mercado, Robert Eberle, and Joel Knapp. She also ventured to the Adirondacks for a workshop on painting from nature.
Corrine is a member of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA), serving as President from 2006-8. She is also a member of the Indiana Artists Club, the Southside Art League, the Indiana Heritage Arts Association and the Chicago Pastel Painters. She was involved with Drawn to Dance; a collaboration between Indiana artists and Dance Kaleidoscope. Her work can be seen at the Madison Art Gallery in (Madison, IN); the Southside Art League Gallery, and the Hoosier Salon Gallery in (Indianapolis, IN) and the Brown County Art Guild, where she has been a member artist since 2011.
She enjoys the spontaneity and light found in plain air painting but also enjoys painting from life with her friends and colleges in the evenings at Herron School of Art (Indianapolis, IN). Her artwork has been exhibited and received many awards throughout the Midwest.
Artist’s Statement: “As a native of Indiana, I am fortunate to have a wide variety of landscapes from which to paint, from the dunes and Lake Michigan in Northern Indiana to the beautiful hills of southern Indiana. So I have naturally gravitated to plein air painting and currently serve as president of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA). I enjoy the spontaneity and the challenge of capturing the mood and the light when I paint outdoors as well as the discipline of my figurative work. Over the years I have experimented with various mediums and now paint primarily in oil and pastel.”

About Jon Uban:
Jon Uban was born in 1958 to an artistic mother and a do-it-yourself father. He spent most of his childhood climbing trees and playing around the woods and streams still to be found in Northwest Indiana at that time. Early interests also included drawing, painting, music and astronomy.
Jon graduated college with a painting degree, and has spent much of his life working in the arts: from illustration work, to performing music; from self-syndicating his own comic strip in newspapers nationwide, to owning and operating his own recording studio, and giving private painting lessons. But his passion has always been capturing in paint the feelings that inspire him from the natural world.
Now a full-time painter, his artwork can be found in collections worldwide. And, Jon can still be found wandering through the woods as he did in childhood.
Jon has been a member artist with the Brown County Art Guild since 2013.
Artist’s Statement: “I am inspired each day by the beauty I find in nature, from things as simple as the understated fall of light upon a forest floor, the way colors reflect off ripples of moving water, or the curl of a flower petal seen up close.
