Snow Moon Owl Prowl

06:00 pm to 07:00 pm
Meet in front of the Four Winds Resort at Fairfax SRA, 9301 S. Fairfax Rd
http://www.tinyurl.com/monroelake

FREE, but limited to 12 people. Registration is required by February 22. Call the Paynetown Activity Center at 812-837-9967 or email [email protected] to sign up.

Late winter is the peak of owl mating season—and the peak of owl calling season! Because they are searching for a mate, owls are much more inclined to respond to calls at this time of year. We’ll hike along and into the woods to see if we can attract a barred owl with its own call. Before the hike, there will also be a brief discussion of owl mating habits, plus instruction on how to imitate owl calls using your own voice. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight.

Cost: Free
