Tashi Sholpa and Fire Puja

07:00 pm to 09:30 pm
Unity of Bloomington
http://www.tashikyiltour.org

The Tashi Kyil monks will perform the Tashi Sholpa, a traditional dance welcoming His Holiness the Dali Lama, followed by the “Buddhism and a Course in Happiness at Tashi Kyil Monastery” slide presentation, and personal words from the monks on their biographies. This is a nice opportunity to get to know the monks and learn more about their monastery. Beginning at 8:30 p.m. outside, the monks will perform a Fire Puja followed by the chanting of “Chod” and performance of Sacred Dances in the Chapel. The public is invited to attend one or both events.

Unity of Bloomington, in partnership with the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, invites the public to five days of sacred learning, spiritual enlightenment and interaction with the Tibetan Buddhist monks visiting on the 2018-2019 Tashi Kyil Tour. The monks are from Tashil, a Tibetan refugee monastery located in Dehra Dun, India.
