We are very excited to be screening The Last Black Man in San Francisco directed by Joe Talbot and starring Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, and Danny Glover. A beautiful and powerful film that has yet to be screened in Bloomington at the I Fell building on September 20th and 21st.

Director/co-writer/composer Joe Talbot makes an astonishing feature film debut, transfiguring one man’s despair into a timely story that questions who has a rightful claim to a city’s identity. Jimmie dreams of reclaiming the Victorian home his grandfather built in the heart of San Francisco. Jimmie searches for belonging in a rapidly changing city that seems to have left them behind. As he struggles to reconnect with his family and reconstruct the community he longs for, his hopes blind him to the reality of his situation. A wistful odyssey populated by skaters, squatters, street preachers, playwrights and other locals on the margins, THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO is a poignant and sweeping story of hometowns and how they’re made — and kept alive — by the people who love them.
Starring Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, Rob Morgan, Tichina Arnold, Mike Epps, Finn Wittrock and Danny Glover.

Cost: $7.00
