Transitions: A Grateful Farewell. Recent work by Mary Hambly

05:00 pm to 08:00 pm on May 14
By Hand Gallery
http://www.byhandgallery.com

After many years as a practicing artist and arts administrator in Bloomington, Mary Hambly has decided to re-locate back to her home state of Washington.
Mary served as Gallery Program Director at the John Waldron Art Center from 2001—04 and was a founding member of the committee of the persistent individuals who, in January 2003, started the Downtown Bloomington Gallery Walk.
Since the summer of 2008, Mary has been absorbed with the intricacies of machine stitching boldly colorful, pattern–printed paper into the geometrically complex, pieced designs of her Paper Art Quilts.
Mary will be leaving in mid-May so this By Hand Gallery show is a chance for a friendly farewell to her and to enjoy her Paper Art Quilts one last time. By Hand Gallery will be open from 5-8pm on Gallery Walk evening to give people a chance to see Mary in person before she leaves.

Cost: none
