Turkey Talk

07:00 pm to 07:45 pm
Room 1C of the Monroe County Public Library, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave.
http://www.tinyurl.com/monroelake

The wild turkey, like the white-tailed deer, disappeared from Indiana by 1900. As with deer, it was reintroduced in the 1930s and has seen a population boom in the years since. There’s a lot more to this bird than meets the eye… We’ll take a look at the natural history and fascinating story of the wild turkey in Indiana. (And for hunters planning to take advantage of fall turkey season, we’ll have a few recipes that you can pick up!) This program is recommended for adults and teenagers.
