During the month of January, the Science Explorations theme is snow and ice explorations. This is a great opportunity to explore physics, chemistry, and earth and space science. Arctic animal adaptations give us the opportunity to explore life science as well. We will look at arctic animals and the adaptations that allow them to live successfully in their environments. We will also do a hands-on experiment with snowshoes, something humans make but animals such as caribou have naturally. This activity supports Indiana elementary Life Science Standards and NGSS elementary and middle school standards. Science Explorations is a great opportunity to develop STEM skills and vocabulary through hands-on exploration. Activities designed for elementary grade children; all welcome.
